Description / human SCGF-alpha protein
Stem Cell Growth Factor-alpha (SCGF-alpha) is a newly discovered hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity at the early stages of hematopoiesis. Human SCGF-alpha is a non-glycosilated species-specific cytokine that can support growth of primitive hematopoietic cells, and in combination of EPO or GM-CSF, it promotes proliferation of erythroid and myeloid progenitors, respectively. Recombinant human SCGF-alpha is a 33.9 kDa polypeptide containing 305 amino acid residues.
